The room is only worth entering if the room is real.

Founders hand over cap tables, financials and pre-announcement information. So no firm sees a single submission until it has been verified against registration records, domain provenance and filing history. Most applications never reach a human.

Why this is not a formality

A convincing firm is cheap to fabricate. A five-year filing history is not.

Anyone can register a domain that reads like a fund, build a team page in an afternoon and write a plausible thesis. What cannot be faked quickly is a record: registration with a regulator, filings that show capital actually deployed, a domain older than the interest, and a mail server that has existed longer than the application.

01
Registration

Checked against SEC IAPD, Form ADV and FINRA BrokerCheck. Family offices below the filing threshold are verified through counsel or bank reference instead — absence of a filing is a question, not a rejection.

02
Domain provenance

Registration date, registrar, and whether the domain matches the entity as filed. A firm that has operated for eleven years does not have a domain registered last month — and a .co that shadows an established .com is the oldest trick in the category.

03
Deployment history

SEC Form D filings and public rounds showing capital actually placed, at what size and in what sectors. A firm that has never appeared on a filing has never written a cheque anyone recorded.

04
The people behind it

Named principals corroborated across the firm site, filings and public record. Working mail on the firm domain — not a free mailbox, not a catch-all forwarder created the same week.

What happens to an application

Automated where it should be. Human where it matters.

The checks are deterministic — they either pass or they do not, and nothing is generated. What a model never gets to decide is whether a borderline firm is admitted.

Clear fail
Declined automatically

Domain younger than the claimed track record, a lookalike TLD, no mail server, no filing history anywhere. Never reaches a person.

Clear pass
Admitted, then watched

Registration, filings, domain and principals all corroborate. Access granted — and re-verified quarterly, because firms wind down.

Everything else
Held for a person

A real family office with no public filings looks identical to a fabrication on paper. That call is made by a human, on a call.

Afterwards
Founders can still say no

Verification is the floor, not consent. A founder chooses which verified firms see their materials, and can withdraw at any time.

Five fields. Verification usually completes within the hour; anything held for review comes back within two business days.

We check public records only — regulator registries, filings, domain registration and DNS. No credit check, no personal data, and nothing is shared with founders until you are verified and they choose to share.
